Gucci is on board with Coty.
As Coty moves forward with its $12.5 billion, multi-brand P&G acquisitions deal, two of its intended fragrance licensees have jumped ship. In January, Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana, whose fragrances have been marketed and sold by P&G for 10 years, and Christina Aguilera Perfumes, a smaller brand, declined the Coty deal.

However, Coty confirmed the other 10 P&G fragrance licenses, including those for Gucci, Hugo Boss, Lacoste and Escada, will transfer when the portfolio of around 40 P&G brands takes place during the second half of this year. The transfer, announced last summer, also includes P&G’s salon hair products and cosmetics businesses.

In the meantime, Coty continues to expand its luxe fragrance holdings, recently signing a deal with Tiffany’s to develop men’s and women’s premium fragrances.
